Canterwood Security is always available and only minutes away from your home if you need assistance.
Vehicle Patrol
The purpose of the vehicle patrol is to cover a large area in a short amount of time, looking for any suspicious activity in Canterwood as well as maintaining a presence of safety and security for the residents. The patrol officer is available to respond to calls from residents, and after an investigation is completed, the officer will advise the concerned resident the results of that investigation.
Alarm Response
There are many homes in Canterwood with security alarm systems. In addition to notifying the local law enforcement agency when alarms are triggered, the company that monitors your security system can directly contact the security patrol on site. If you want to have your alarm company contact Canterwood security, please advise them to call Canterwood Security directly at 253-851-8592 if the alarm is activated. The officer receiving the call will immediately respond, assess the situation and follow appropriate procedures.
Home Vacation Checks
Canterwood security personnel can provide property inspections for residents who are on vacation and request that their homes are patrolled and inspected during their leave. Security will conduct a foot patrol at the residence which includes looking for any suspicious activity or possible break-ins, checking doors and windows to see if they’re locked, pick-up newspapers if necessary and reporting any outdoor maintenance issues to Canterwood’s property management team. They will explain to you the option of temporarily installing a small inconspicuous computer chip outside your home called “ToCo.” This chip will ensure that Security conducts a daily inspection of your home and will record the time and dates that they were there. If there are any package left at your home during your absence, security with your permission will remove the package(s) and store it at the Canterwood Property Room for safekeeping. This will reduce the appearance that no one is home. After securing the package, security will mail you a letter advising you that your package(s) have been stored, and telling you how to claim your property when you return. Monitor Emergency Services
Police and fire scanners are now provided at the Canterwood main gate and in the patrol vehicle. This enables our guards to monitor emergency calls made by residents in Canterwood. In these cases the main gate and the patrol officer will be prepared before the Police or the Fire Department arrives, and, if necessary, the patrol officer will respond to the resident’s home.
Emergency Services
The Canterwood Security patrol vehicle contains a “Lifepak CR Defibrillator.” All of the Security staff at Canterwood are trained in the use of this device and in CPR. Canterwood Security monitors all emergency responses to Canterwood and when they hear a request for paramedics, they will respond to your location with the defibrillator in the event it is needed. This is an entirely automated device that, once applied, will automatically assess the condition of a person in cardiac arrest and apply the proper application.
Traffic Issues
If you feel that you have a traffic issue such as speeding in your neighborhood, please contact Security at 851-8592. Security will respond to your home and take the essential information. If your concern is speeding, Security, will, after determining when and where the violations are occurring, conduct radar enforcement at the location. In addition, they will place the speed display trailer there for a period of time. All violators will be sent notices of the infraction, and if repeated, the violators will be subject to fines.
Battery Jumper
The security vehicles are equipped with a battery jumper in case anyone in Canterwood requires a jump-start for his/her vehicle.
Special Patrol Requests
If you have a concern with any other issues such as vandalism, juvenile disturbances unleashed dogs, barking dogs, etc., please contact Security at 851-8592 and advise them of the situation.
CC&R's & Residential Guidelines Violations
The Canterwood Security will document violations of the CC& R's and Residential Guidelines and report them to the HOA office.
